The IHCD Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) Level 2 First Person on Scene Intermediate (FPOS I) course is designed as the next step for a first aider. It is aimed at those working in remote or hostile environments. Students will be taught the skills associated with rapid assessment, stabilisation and transfer of both the trauma victim and patients suffering a medical emergency.
This foundational and valuable course is the minimum standard for Close Protection Operatives, Community Responders and Ambulance Responders as well as those wishing to gain tier 1 medic employment.
The course includes both theoretical lectures and practical sessions, designed to develop an all-round first responder. Our instructors use a range of scenarios to prepare you for managing medical emergencies in high risk or hostile environments.
Our instructors are paramedics with a wealth of knowledge and frontline experience.
The First Person on Scene Intermediate qualification is an in-depth course that involves more than just giving first aid. After taking this course, you will be able to identify a variety of injuries and problems; you will also be able to deliver an effective solution in a professional manner to ensure the victim receives adequate care, until they are taken to the hospital.

Students are required to successfully pass the following assessments:
Students need to be at least 18 years of age, have identification and proof of address (i.e. passport, drivers Licence, bills, bank statements). The address proof cannot be more than 3 months old. Learners must also have an acceptable standard of English in order to be successful in this training.
Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with the IHCD BTEC Level 3 First Person On Scene Intermediate Certificate from AoFAQ which is valid for 3 years.
