Our Close Protection Refresher course is designed to both assess experienced Close Protection Operatives and also update them with current techniques, law and legislation pertinent to their role. Only Close Protection Operatives who can prove they meet the strict start-state criteria as laid down by the Pearson and the SIA Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) policy are welcome to attend this course.

 

You will be required to complete a comprehensive Student Learning Journal, where you will need to demonstrate a solid theoretical understanding of the SIA modules as well as also passing the required examination in Conflict Management. You will also take part in practical scenarios along with the full Close Protection course students.

Students are required to successfully pass the following assessments:

 

  • Complete a comprehensive Student Learner Workbook, where students need to demonstrate a solid theoretical understanding of the SIA modules
  • Pass the required examination in Conflict Management
  • Practical performance assessments throughout the course

Students must have a valid certificate for Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry to be eligible for the course.  Alternatively, students will be considered for the course if written evidence from a past employer (within past 3 years) can be provided.  Evidence must indicate the student has carried out close protection continuation or conducted more than 140 hours in a Close Protection Operative role.

Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with a BTEC Level 3 certificate for Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry  from Pearson which is valid for 3 years.
